Southwest High School

In early March of 2000 an article was published in the City Pages newspaper about a staff member at Southwest who refuses to accept Debra as a woman. This person is backed by a couple of extreme right organizations who continually try to get her views published. They have tried on two separate occasions to have Debra arrested in her school for using the restroom. They write letters and put out press releases trying to convince everyone that Debra should not work in education. These are copies of the dozens of signs that filled the halls of Southwest one morning in March of 2000 after the students finally got tired of all of the attacks on Ms. Davis, their librarian.
